This session will include a blend of lecture, mindfulness and generative writing practice, and discussion.

Featured Speaker: Ranjini George

Ranjini George holds a PhD and MA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing. As an Associate Professor of English at Zayed University, Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, she ran the Teaching with the Mind of Mindfulness series. She won the Arnold B. Fox Award for Research Writing (Northern Illinois University) and was a Georges & Ann Bochardt Fiction Scholar at the Sewanee Writer’s Conference in Tennessee, USA. More recently, she won the first place in Canada’s inaugural Coffee Shop Author Contest for her travel memoir, a work-in-progress, Miracle of Flowers, and a joint-third for the Odes to Aurelius contest hosted by Modern Stoicism and the Aurelius foundation. She currently teaches courses such as Meditation & Writing, Pilgrimage to the Sacred Feminine, Stoicism and the Good Life and Mindfulness for Discipline & Productivity at the School of Continuing Studies, University of Toronto, and received the 2019 Excellence in Teaching Award. She is also a visiting teacher for the Tara Mandala Buddhist International organization. She presents in venues such as the Parliament of World Religions, Toronto, and was a featured speaker at the first Stoicon-x Women’s International event, June 2021.
